Why Website Optimization' is Important for 'SEO Ranking'

The website has to be properly optimized before the search engine will consider ranking it on the search engine. Novice webmasters always fail to place emphasis on onsite optimization. All they care is to get a lot of backlinks to their site. Consequently, some webmasters will resort to use automatic submission software to blast their site to thousands of directories.

Doing so will hurt their rankings and cause them to get blacklisted. It is not normal for a site to get a lot of backlinks in a short time. It surprises the search engine and cause it to launch an investigation into the website. The elements on the site should be optimized properly so that the site can do its best in the search engine ranking.

Every image on your site should be optimized. The images must be optimized so that they can rank well in the image search result. The alt tag is the word that pops up when you hover the mouse cursor over the image. You should assign an alt tag to every image.

If you want to increase the traffic to your site, you can optimize the content with keywords. The contents of the pages in the site should have a unique main keyword. For example, a page about how to groom dog should use the main keyword “grooming dog” while another page about how to feed your dog should use the main keyword “dog feeding”. Besides the main keyword, you can use secondary keywords to further optimize the content.

By doing so, you enable the page to rank for the secondary keywords as well. Typically, each page should have a keyword density of 3 – 5%. If you want to make sure you don’t exceed the keyword density limit, you can use the keyword density checker. The keyword density checker will analyze the content and inform you about the percentage of the words that are repeated for the most times in the article.

Some webmasters are attracted to using flash intros. Flash intros are not SEO friendly. Though the search engine is able to read flash content, it is best that you use static content. Static site is the most SEO friendly site. Sites that have too many flash will distract the attention of the visitors. The visitors will be distracted to play with the flash instead of reading the content. As a result, the visitors won’t be interested in buying your product.

In addition, using too much flash in the site gives people an impression that you are not a serious company. The best thing is to avoid the usage of flash on your site. If you want to use flash, you must make sure the content areas are made up of static HTML so that the search engine will be able to read it. You can also prepare a static HTML version of the flash site so that people can click on it when the flash is taking a long time to load.
