London: An obese orangutan in Britain is on a diet and she is having only a bowl of fruits and vegetables.
Oshine gained weight after she ate lots of sweets, jelly and marshmallows for 13 years when she was a pet in South Africa. She weighs nearly 100 kg. The Sun reported that she is now on a strict diet at rescue centre Monkey World, in Wareham, Dorset.
“It will take a few months for Oshine to reach a more appropriate weight,” centre director Alison Cronin was quoted as saying.Source
